BCI has been approved to receive $72,282 in funding from the Productive Living Board of St. Louis County (PLB). The investment will fund vocational training and job support services for eligible St. Louis County residents with disabilities beginning July 1.
“It’s incredible to watch people learn and blossom when they join the workforce,” said BCI Chief Program Officer of Competitive Employment Matt Jannings. “The individuals we serve have disabilities, yes, but they also have incredible abilities. Our job is to support them in their careers, and we are grateful to the PLB for their confidence in our programs and team.”
BCI provides a continuum of employment programs for St. Charles County residents. The nonprofit also supports those who want to work competitively in St. Louis County. This is done through traditional competitive employment services as well as vocational training programs in partnership with several firms including Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, Mason Pointe Lutheran Senior Services, AC Hotel, and Cambridge Air Solutions.
PLB funding creates opportunities for St. Louis County residents with disabilities to remain active in the communities where they live, learn, and work. BCI’s award was part of the $27.2 million approved on May 13 for 35 unique partner agencies. Together, these agencies will provide support services to over 4,000 youth and adults this fiscal year.
