(St. Louis, Mo., March 8, 2023) Boone Center, Inc. (BCI)—a nonprofit that improves the lives of adults with disabilities through employment opportunities—will launch a new giving day on March 15. The date commemorates when the organization was issued its Missouri certificate of incorporation in 1960.
“We are beyond excited to see this come together,” said BCI Development Director Kristin Williams. “Our goal is to rise above the noise that often occurs on days like Giving Tuesday or Give STL Day and share our mission as clearly and widely as possible.”
Television station KMOV will also be promoting BCI’s new giving day as part of the station’s 4 You program that kicked off February 15. The program’s goal is to amplify the voices and impact of area nonprofits to create a stronger St. Louis. BCI was selected as the first featured nonprofit.
“To have our inaugural giving day line up with the finale of our 4 You profile is more than we could have ever dreamed of,” said Williams. “We are already experiencing the impact of KMOV’s coverage in the form of calls and tours. Their team has done an incredible job! And now we have the chance to do something really big.”
The money raised during the giving day on March 15 will be used to create 48 new jobs for adults with disabilities under BCI’s organizational employment program. Currently, there are 35 individuals waiting to be hired. Missouri Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits are available for qualifying donations of $1,000 or more.
“We are asking friends old and new to support what they love about BCI and join hundreds of others in making a difference,” added Williams. “Every person should have the chance to know the pride and purpose that comes through work. This giving day is an opportunity to make that happen together.”
In addition to the television coverage, BCI will promote the new giving day on social media. To follow BCI on Facebook, visit https://www.facebook.com/boonecenterinc.
