True Manufacturing Welcomes All Abilities

Three BCI Skills Center graduates holding certificates standing with a large team from True Manufacturing

True Manufacturing in O’Fallon, Mo., stands out as our longest-running and most successful vocational training partner. Since the first class in 2019, BCI’s Skills Center has proudly graduated 46 students, with 32 still employed at True. Remarkably, True’s retention rate for adults with disabilities is 40% higher than that of their traditional new hires!

Curtis, Joe, and Onika (pictured above) became the 13th class to graduate from the True program on August 7th. On Monday, August 19th, they start work, earning an impressive $20 an hour.

“The BCI training program includes so many great aspects, including a little tough love and accountability but also support and respect,” said Steve Young, True’s Director of Operations. “Our managers will apply these same things. We are so happy for these graduates as they join the True family.”

The Skills Center offers a direct pathway to competitive employment, and partnerships with companies like True make these opportunities possible. We commend True Manufacturing for their commitment to inclusivity and for sustaining this impactful partnership.

Like all BCI training courses, the True program is accredited by the Missouri Department of Higher Education. Although this is tuition-based training, in most cases, the cost is covered by state or local funding, or through our scholarship fund.
